Yamaha School Policies and Structure
Encino Yamaha Music School is owned and operated independently of Yamaha Corporation of America. Yamaha Corporation provides teacher training and certification and sells Yamaha materials to authorized schools. Yamaha Corporation does not set fees, calendars or policies for schools. All agreements are between the consumer and Encino Yamaha Music School.
Grouping: Students are carefully matched according to age, skill level, and musical goals. Classes are sometimes regrouped to provide the best learning situation.
Instructors: Yamaha instructors must pass a comprehensive music examination and attend regular Yamaha-sponsored seminars in order to gain and retain their teaching certification. Teachers are often observed and evaluated by Yamaha representatives in order to refine and improve their teaching skills. Please be on time for class to benefit from a full lesson. If you are uncomfortable with any aspect of the class, please discuss it with your teacher before making a drastic decision to stop valuable musical training.
Parent Participation: A parent or appropriate adult is required to attend Music Wonderland and Junior Music Course with his or her child. Parents are welcome but not required to attend Young Musicians Course, Junior Extension Course and Keyboard Encounters courses.
Private Lessons are available for adults and children ages 6 and up
Recitals: All students will participate in school recitals which are scheduled for twice a year.
Tuition and Material Fees
- Registration: For all new students registration fee of $35.00 is payable in advance. It’s non-refundable and covers administrative costs of the program.
- Group lesson: For all YMES classes, including Keyboard Encounter tuition per month: $160.00 / 4 classes,
Materials: $92.00 - Private lessons:
30 min - $164.00 per month / 4 weeks
45 min - $232.00 per month/ 4 weeks
60 min - $280.00 per month/ 4 weeks
You will get 10% discount for tuition made for 6 months in advance
Tuition is due the 7th of each month.
The tuition you pay reserves a place for you in a weekly class therefore THERE IS NO REDUCTION IN TUITION FOR MISSED LESSONS. All missed group lessons can be made up in another class at a similar level. Private make-up lessons for group students are available for $15.00. Private lessons canceled by the student at least 24 hours in advanced can be made-up within 1 month based on teacher’s availabilities or with another teacher. In case of missing 4 or more classes in a row you must pay the registration fee again.
- Late charge: $25.00 if payment not received by the 7th of the month.
- Charge for returned check: $25.00
For Your Child's Protection: Please instruct your child to wait inside the school until you pick him/her up personally. Encino Yamaha Music School is not responsible for children outside the premises.
